NMOSD

Hello everyone!

My life changed in July 2019. I woke up one morning with blurry vision. I looked at my TV screen and immediately thought that the TV was about to break down. I asked my husband if the screen looked blurry and he replied no. So I went to the bathroom, covered up my right eye, and couldn't see myself in the mirror.

My journey

Back in 2012, I had Lasik eye surgery so I was thinking it was time for a touch-up. However, when I went to my eye appointment, I was told that I was showing signs of Multiple Sclerosis. Immediately, I was sent to the local ER, where I sat for 4 hours only to be told that they couldn't treat me. Then I had to go to a trauma hospital. This all occurred on the same day. Long story short, I was misdiagnosed with MS for weeks. Getting treatments for MS. Having multiple relapses which caused my vision to be completely damaged in my left eye.

The diagnosis

Finally, I was diagnosed with Neuromyelitis Optica. My life has changed completely with extreme nerve pain, tremors, lots of medication, treatments, depression, migraines, brain fog, and so much more. Through it all, I am thankful that God has kept me and has been by my side.
