Does anyone have any other illnesses in addition to NMO, and do you feel that they make your NMO worse or does your NMO make them worse?

I have Alopecia Areata which is another autoimmune disease. I was diagnosed at 9 years old. I can't help but to think it may be part of the reason I got NMO. I've noticed a lot of people who have NMO have other autoimmune diseases. I am currently dealing with some underline health issues that I believe are exacerbated by the NMO. I truly believe that any health problem we have is a combination of both the illness/condition and the NMO equally contributing in making one or the other worse.

I have diabetes and I also have fibromyalgia. To be honest I'm not sure which makes what worse. I have noticed that since I have been diagnosed with NMO my fibro flares are worse pain-wise and last longer than usual. When I was diagnosed with fibro I was relieved, but still always felt like I had something else because the symptoms were so bad! I'm sorry to hear that you have alopecia also, but you seem to be handling everything like a boss!!
