May is Mental health awareness month

As a patient with nmo I've had my fair share of mental breakdown but my family's support always helps me bounce back up. I always comfort myself with an over size sweater or my favorite snacks ( not usually healthy). Other times I talk to my friends and online community, they always have positive words for me.

What helps you take care of your mental health?

  1. Sometimes for me it’s completely checking out of anything that is overwhelming to me. I try to get fresh air ( provided it’s not humid) and I journal and meditate. Both have helped me immensely, but it’s a daily process. So great to meet you in person (zoom)! I also love the beach and I’m trying to listen to more music now.

    1. Some thing that helps my mental health is using medical marijuana to allow my brain to relax and give my body relief of pain, followed by an activity like painting, reading, or binge watching. A comfy sweater and unhealthy snacks are always a good idea!

      1. For me, crocheting, reading a book, listening to music, and hanging out with my daughter help. She is my biggest support system. And if it gets way to overwhelming this community is always there as a savior. Noor (Team Member )
