Need help. I am new to this community

NMO has been there with me for years now. I’ve coped up with this condition and trying to lead a normal life. But sometimes i feel so alone as no one will ever understand what i am going through and what I’m feeling. That’s why after researching i found this community and hope some you can give me better advice. I have to go through different health complications everyday which I’m not even aware of is due to NMO. The complications now i face are -
Certain irritation in skin just below chest on a regular basis
Certain pain in my eyes which leads to eye pain and headaches (sometimes not regularly)
I find it hard to pee (wait for a longer time to release pee )
I sweat a lot other than regular people. I sometimes sweat without any reason. Sweat after eating. Excessive sweating after exercising.
I have digestion problem and sometimes experience piles in few months.

  1. @Highonlife You're definitely not alone, and I'm so glad you found this community!

I wonder if the irritation you experience might be something like the neuropathic itch one of our other team members Hali talks about? https://neuromyelitis-optica.net/clinical/symptom-neuropathic-itch

If you haven't already, it may be helpful to speak to your doctor about the issues you're experiencing, particularly the bladder issues. In the meantime there's more info about that here if you haven't seen it already https://neuromyelitis-optica.net/bowel-issues

Glad to have you here 😀

    1. I agree. You are not alone. Many of these things could be from NMO but it is best to let your neurologist figure that out for you. Sometimes there might be different therapies and treatments to give you some relief. I hope you feel better soon.

      1. Highonlife Hi! I am so glad you found this community. I remember being in your spot feeling lonely and depressed and then when I found this new family everything changed.
I personally experience neuropathic itch and eye pain and heartache as I have optic neuritis as well. I am helpless when it comes to itch cause there is no treatment where I live. But for eye and headaches, I apply an icepack which kinda works
And as Helen suggested there are heaps of topics available on the community website that will be helpful for you as a lot of community members are sailing on the same boat. And please never feel alone again we are all here for you 😀Noor (Team Memeber)

        1. Welcome! You are not alone, we are all here for you. I also have digestive issues that’s how I was diagnosed. And issues with my bladder.
