Wow , so young. Thank you for sharing. It must've been a shock. How are you doing now? - Jada (neuromyelitis-optica.net team member)

Thanks for asking. It was a shock and it hit me hard and fast. I’m doing ok. Making great progress in physical therapy.

So happy to hear that things are going well with PT!! Having a good physical therapist It's definitely a blessing. We had another advocate who was diagnosed at 26 and that was also so shocking to hear. - Jada

Wow, thanks for sharing. Wow, must've come completely from left field. Did you have symptoms for quite some time? I've known a lot of people to have had the symptoms here and there but doctors didn't put the pieces together sadly. - Jada

I was 37 when I had my first episode. I got the official diagnosis 6 months later, which was 2 months after my 38th birthday.

Ugh, that's hard. At least you were able to be gifted with actual answers. - Jada

I was luckier than most. Although I have had symptoms for years and never knew what to attribute them to, to be diagnosed 6 months after my first "severe" attack is a blessing. I have seen people say it took them years.
