Have you experienced neuropathic itch?

Neuropathic itch is a fairly common symptom of people impacted by neurological health conditions, like NMOSD.

Is this something you or a loved one has experienced? If so, what helped?

  1. Nothing helps me for the itch.
Except my next rituximab or treating an infection which is causing a temporary rise in antibody levels.

For me it is always the first sign of rising antibody levels.

    1. I had never heard about this but have had an itch going on for about a month. I get this itch behind the neck that comes around to the front and now on the head

      1. is there anything you have found that is helpful to relieve the itch? -Julie (team member)

      2. my scalp also since being diagnosed. But never put two and two together

    2. I had previously gone to those fast ER places and had mentioned the itch & was given a cream. I put it on once I have the itch & it helps

      1. I’m glad the cream they gave you is helpful! How have you been doing lately? -Julie (team member)

    3. The itching is terrible. When I scratch it turns into burning welts! My Dr prescribed hydroxyzine. That seems to work and also cold wet towels.

      1. burning welts sounds awful! I’m glad the hydroxyzine and cold towels are helpful. How have you been feeling lately? -Julie (team member)
